President Trump has offered the White House press secretary job to Katie Zacharia, a longtime conservative commentator and communications adviser at Trump Media & Technology Group, in a pick that would make her the sixth person to run his podium across two terms in office.

Trump announced the offer in a lengthy post on Truth Social Friday afternoon, calling the 42-year-old "loyal" and "a devoted fan and member of MAGA" with "an unblemished record of support." Two White House officials confirmed the offer to Fox News Digital, though it was not immediately clear whether Zacharia had formally accepted the job.

Replacing a record-setting predecessor

"She was previously involved in my Campaigns, assisting in key Swing States, where we won 7 out of 7," Trump wrote, adding that she "has the respect of, and will work fantastically with, the Media, the American People, and my Administration."

Zacharia would replace Karoline Leavitt, who left the press secretary post in August following the birth of her second child and has since taken a role as a Fox News contributor. Since Leavitt's departure, the White House has run a rotating cast of senior officials — including Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Vice President JD Vance, Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent and CMS Administrator Dr. Mehmet Oz — through just two formal briefings at the podium.

A Pepperdine University-trained lawyer from California, Zacharia has spent most of her adult life in conservative media and Republican politics. She interned for the Republican National Committee, worked in the White House Office of Political Affairs during the Bush administration, and has been a regular commentator on Fox News and Newsmax. She briefly served as a Department of Homeland Security spokesperson earlier this year before departing after roughly six weeks, citing the strain of travel between California and Washington on her family.

"Anyone who has not met her yet will quickly see that she is a genuinely kind person who will work well with the press corps."

That assessment came from former Trump press secretary Sean Spicer, who told Fox News Digital that Zacharia "has been an effective champion of the MAGA movement and America First policies" and "most importantly clearly has the trust of President Trump."

If she accepts, Zacharia inherits a job that goes well beyond the briefing-room lectern — managing the administration's relationship with reporters, coordinating messaging across federal agencies and fielding a daily torrent of press inquiries, all under a president famous for setting his own communications agenda in real time on social media.
