Nicolas Cage Says He's 'Homeless' After Sinkhole Swallows His Malibu Mansion

MALIBU, Calif. — Nicolas Cage says he's effectively without a place to live after a massive sinkhole opened beneath the driveway of his Malibu mansion, which public records show he bought in 2024 for $10.5 million.
The roughly 30-by-30-foot crater opened during heavy surf linked to Tropical Storm Marie in early September, and local officials "red-tagged" five homes, including Cage's, barring residents from entering. Another two dozen homes were affected because residents could no longer safely move vehicles in and out of the area. A shelter was set up at Malibu High School, and SoCalGas confirmed a gas leak caused by the collapse was later secured. No injuries were reported.
Cage's representatives did not immediately respond to requests for comment at the time of the collapse.
