Maye's Late Heroics Sink Unbeaten Bills as Patriots Survive 29-26 Thriller
Drake Maye shook off two first-half turnovers to throw three touchdowns, including the go-ahead score with 1:50 left, as New England knocked Buffalo from the ranks of the unbeaten.

Drake Maye threw three touchdown passes and New England's defense forced a back-breaking interception in the final two minutes as the Patriots rallied past the previously unbeaten Buffalo Bills, 29-26, on Sunday night at Highmark Stadium.
New England trailed 26-21 after Josh Allen hit Keon Coleman for a 34-yard touchdown, but Maye answered immediately, leading an eight-play, 73-yard drive. Facing third-and-5, Maye rolled right and lobbed a pass to second-year receiver Efton Chism, who hauled it in one-handed with 1:50 remaining for the eventual winning score, according to Bleacher Report's box score breakdown.
Maye finished with three touchdown passes on the night despite two early turnovers, connecting with Romeo Doubs twice and Rhamondre Stevenson for a short rushing score. The defense sealed it when safety Craig Woodson intercepted Allen with 1:05 left, and Maye found tight end Hunter Henry along the sideline on the ensuing drive to pick up the first down New England needed to run out the clock, per CBS Sports' game tracker.
MAYE SHOOK OFF TWO TURNOVERS TO DELIVER THE GO-AHEAD SCORE WITH 1:50 LEFT
The loss ends Buffalo's unbeaten start to the season and hands the AFC East lead back into question just as the Bills looked to be separating from the pack. Allen finished with the late touchdown toss to Coleman among his numbers but was undone by the fourth-quarter interception that ESPN's recap called the turning point of the night.
For New England, it's the kind of statement win a young roster built around Maye needed heading into the back half of the schedule — a road comeback against a division rival that had been rolling. The Patriots have now shown they can win multiple ways: through the air with Maye distributing to Doubs, Chism and Henry, and on the ground behind Stevenson.
Both teams get back to work this week preparing for Week 6 looking to build on — or bounce back from — Sunday night's result, with the AFC East picture now considerably murkier than it looked 24 hours ago.
