Braves Face Elimination Tonight as Dodgers Try to Close Out NLDS at Truist Park
Tyler Mahle gets the biggest start of his career for Atlanta, facing a Dodgers team that leads the series 2-1 and sends Tyler Glasnow to the mound looking to punch LA's ticket to the NLCS.

The Atlanta Braves' season is on the line tonight. The Los Angeles Dodgers, who hold a 2-1 lead in their best-of-five NLDS matchup, can close out the series with a win at Truist Park, while the Braves need a victory just to force a decisive Game 5.
First pitch for Game 4 is set for 6 p.m. ET on FS1, with right-hander Tyler Mahle taking the ball for Atlanta against a Dodgers lineup that has been dangerous all October. Mahle carried a 1.99 ERA over his final nine regular-season starts and will make what MLB.com called the most important start of his career.
How We Got Here
The Dodgers took Game 1 behind a 5-3 win, the Braves answered in Game 2 with a 3-2 victory to even the series, and Los Angeles retook control with a 3-1 win in Game 3 on Tuesday after Atlanta ace Chris Sale was unable to hold a lead. That loss leaves the Braves needing to win two straight just to advance.
IT'S AN ELIMINATION GAME FOR THE BRAVES
Dodgers right-hander Tyler Glasnow gets the ball for Los Angeles. Glasnow made just 13 starts in the regular season because of a back injury but has looked sharp in October, racking up double-digit strikeouts in back-to-back outings heading into the postseason, including an 11.92 strikeouts-per-nine mark that ranked fourth among MLB starters this year.
What's at Stake
A Dodgers win tonight would send the defending-pedigree franchise back to the NLCS and end Atlanta's season. A Braves win forces a winner-take-all Game 5, likely back at Dodger Stadium, with the loser's roster-building questions starting almost immediately and the winner moving on to face either the Brewers or Padres, who are still playing out their own NLDS series.
