Bills Survive Rams' Kicking Meltdown, Win 37-34 in Overtime on Monday Night Football
Tyler Bass's overtime field goal and a blocked Rams kick capped a wild Monday night, with Josh Allen accounting for three touchdowns and Puka Nacua setting a franchise mark against Buffalo.

INGLEWOOD, CALIF. — Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills outlasted the Los Angeles Rams 37-34 in overtime on "Monday Night Football," surviving a game defined as much by a Rams special-teams collapse as by Allen's dual-threat brilliance.
Tyler Bass won it for Buffalo with a 45-yard field goal with 1:55 left in overtime, moments after Bills edge rusher Greg Rousseau blocked a potential game-winning 48-yard attempt by Rams kicker Harrison Mevis on Los Angeles' own overtime possession. It was Mevis's second miss of the night; an earlier 50-yard try had sailed wide left in the first quarter.
Rams running back Kyren Williams had forced overtime with a 1-yard touchdown run with just five seconds left in regulation, capping a wild finish to a game Los Angeles' own team recap says included 24 combined penalties.
Allen finished with 202 passing yards and a touchdown through the air, adding 121 yards and another score on the ground — his second-most rushing yards in a career game — while running back James Cook III punched in two rushing touchdowns of his own on 25 carries for 111 yards, according to the Bills' official recap. Buffalo finished with 234 rushing yards as a team. Khalil Shakir added three catches for 80 yards and Keon Coleman caught a 7-yard touchdown, with Dalton Kincaid converting the two-point try. It marked Allen's first overtime win across eight career games that have gone to extra time.
4-1 BILLS. 2-3 RAMS.
On the other side, Matthew Stafford had one of the gaudier stat lines of his career in a loss, going 40-of-54 for 383 yards and three touchdowns. Puka Nacua caught a staggering 17 passes on 24 targets for 138 yards and a score — the most catches by any player against Buffalo in franchise history, according to the Rams' recap — and Davante Adams added a 4-yard touchdown grab. None of it was enough to overcome the special-teams breakdowns.
What's next
The win pushes Buffalo to 4-1 on the season, while the Rams drop to 2-3, extending a rocky start for a team that reached the playoffs a year ago. The Associated Press reported that Rams coach Sean McVay fumed afterward over his kicking unit's second straight disaster in overtime and vowed changes. Both teams are next scheduled to play within the normal Week 6 slate.
