Freshman horror-comedy "Widow's Bay" dominated the 78th Primetime Emmy Awards on Monday night, winning six statuettes at Los Angeles' Peacock Theater in a ceremony hosted by Mariska Hargitay and broadcast live on NBC.

"The Pitt" took home Outstanding Drama Series, while Matthew Rhys made Emmys history as the first person to win two lead-actor categories in the same year — lead actor in a drama for "Widow's Bay" and lead actor in a limited series for Netflix's "The Beast in Me," according to CNN's live coverage. Allison Janney won Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama for "The Diplomat," Alan Cumming won for hosting "The Traitors," "Love on the Spectrum" won Outstanding Unstructured Reality Program, and "The Muppet Show" took the pre-recorded variety special prize, per the full NBC winners list.

The night's emotional peak

The biggest ovation of the night went to Michael J. Fox, who received the Bob Hope Humanitarian Award for three decades of Parkinson's disease advocacy — his first Emmys appearance in 13 years, attending with wife Tracy Pollan. Fox told the crowd he'd once feared going public with his diagnosis would end his career, according to Variety.

That's my bit. You can't do that."
