Taylor Swift's 'Patient Zero' Dethrones Record-Breaking Country Hit
Swift notches her 16th Billboard Hot 100 No. 1, knocking Ella Langley's historic 24-week chart-topper out of the top spot.
Taylor Swift's "Patient Zero" has rocketed to No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100, becoming her 16th career chart-topper and ending the record-setting reign of Ella Langley's "Choosin' Texas," which had spent 24 weeks at No. 1 — the longest run atop the chart in Hot 100 history.
The song also marks Swift's 10th career debut-at-No.-1 hit, tying Drake for the most in Hot 100 history. Her album "The Life of a Showgirl" now has 14 top-10 hits across its original and deluxe editions, the most ever from a single album.
Swift now sits alone in third place on the all-time Hot 100 No. 1 list, behind Mariah Carey's 19 and the Beatles' 20 — a record that has stood for 56 years and that Billboard analysts say she is on pace to challenge.
