Lucian Piane, the music producer and recurring on-camera mentor on "RuPaul's Drag Race," has died at age 46 after being struck by a car in Glendale, California, according to TMZ and E! News.

Piane was hit early Monday morning and later died from his injuries, per the reports. He spent years working behind the scenes of "Drag Race," producing several of RuPaul's studio albums and appearing on the show as a mentor to contestants between 2012 and 2016. He also made headlines in 2016 and 2017 for a public falling-out with RuPaul that played out on social media, which he later said he regretted and attributed to a difficult personal period.

No further details about the crash, including whether charges are expected, had been released as of Tuesday. Friends and former "Drag Race" colleagues shared tributes online, remembering Piane's contributions to the franchise's music and his mentorship of early contestants.

A cause-of-death determination and any additional statement from his family had not been made public at the time of this report.
