A California judge has granted Wladimir Klitschko temporary guardian status over the estate of his daughter with Hayden Panettiere, following the actress's accidental-overdose death.

The 9-year-old, Kaya, is Panettiere's sole heir. Klitschko's petition said property belonging to Panettiere was being removed both by federal agents investigating her death and by a non-family member who allegedly tried to sell a piece of her jewelry at a pawn shop.

The Ukrainian former heavyweight boxing champion has had full custody of Kaya for most of her life; she lives with him in Ukraine. The temporary status remains in place until a long-term estate administrator is appointed.
