Emmys' In Memoriam Reel Skips Chuck Norris, Buffy's Nicholas Brendon — Fans Furious
The Television Academy's tribute segment left off a string of recognizable names, and viewers flooded social media calling it "disgraceful."
The Emmys' In Memoriam segment was supposed to be a solemn moment. Instead, it became the night's most-argued-about five minutes after fans noticed several familiar faces missing entirely.
Chuck Norris and "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" actor Nicholas Brendon were both left out, along with "30 Rock" actor Grizz Chapman, "Starship Troopers" star Patrick Muldoon and "The Gong Show" host Jaye P. Morgan, per Unilad. The Brendon omission stung especially hard since Sarah Michelle Gellar and David Boreanaz had just referenced a "tough two years" for the Buffy cast earlier in the broadcast.
The Television Academy has not publicly responded to the criticism, but the segment is still generating angry threads a day later.
