Daisy Edgar-Jones Trades Normal People for Regency Romance
The "Normal People" star leads a fresh, female-directed take on Jane Austen's "Sense and Sensibility," out now.
Daisy Edgar-Jones is swapping modern heartbreak for corsets and candlelight. The actress stars as the level-headed Elinor Dashwood in a new big-screen adaptation of Jane Austen's "Sense and Sensibility," opening in theaters this week from Focus Features, with Esmé Creed-Miles as her more romantic sister Marianne.
Directed by Georgia Oakley, the first woman to helm a major version of the classic, the film leans on the real-life friendship between its leads, who first worked together as teenagers. "Daisy feels like family to me," Creed-Miles said of her co-star, who called their bond "kind of everything" on set.
