Amanda Seyfried and Thomas Sadoski are calling it quits after nine years of marriage. The actors confirmed the split in a joint statement to People on September 15, telling the outlet they had "been separated for a while" before going public.

"We have been separated for a while, and it's proven to be the right move for us and our family unit," the couple said. "We've got each other forever — and it's GOOD."

Seyfried, 40, and Sadoski, 50, met in 2015 while performing together in the off-Broadway play The Way We Get By and co-starring in the film The Last Word. They married quietly in March 2017, days before the birth of their first child, and largely kept their relationship out of the tabloid spotlight, relocating to a farmhouse in upstate New York in part to raise their kids away from Hollywood. They share daughter Nina, 9, and son Thomas Jr., who turns 6 this month, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Speculation had already been building. Seyfried was photographed at the Toronto International Film Festival earlier this month without her wedding ring, a detail that E! News and other outlets flagged as an early sign of trouble. Property records also show Seyfried recently listed her Hollywood Hills home — bought in 2011 for $1.85 million — for $3.2 million, according to Just Jared, further fueling reports that the couple had already begun untangling their lives before Monday's announcement.
