Phoebe Bridgers Hospitalized With Appendicitis on Her Birthday, Scraps Intimate UK Tour Dates
'I got appendicitis for my birthday,' the singer wrote from her hospital bed, days after turning 32 — she says her bigger fall tour is still on track.

Phoebe Bridgers rang in her 32nd birthday with an emergency hospital trip, revealing this week that she was hospitalized with appendicitis and forced to cancel a run of intimate UK tour dates.
The singer-songwriter, who turned 32 on Aug. 17, posted a photo on Instagram Stories from a hospital bed, IV in arm, captioned "I got appendicitis for my birthday," followed by a second photo with a guitar and microphone reading "Last known photo of me and my appendix," according to E! Online's report.
The diagnosis forced Bridgers to scrap a small, phone-free run of UK shows tied to "Lost Weekend," her first album in six years — dates in Kingston, Brighton and Bristol that had been billed as intimate, low-key warmups. She said the shows would be rescheduled, according to Paste Magazine's coverage.

Bridgers indicated she still expects to launch her larger trek, "The Lost Tour" — her first full-scale tour in three years — as scheduled on Sept. 14, according to Guitar Player's report, which cited a required surgery. Further medical details, including whether she has since been discharged, were not confirmed in initial coverage.
The health scare comes in the middle of a big year for Bridgers, who released "Lost Weekend" as her first full album since 2020's "Punisher." Fans flooded her replies with well-wishes, with many noting the dark humor of her captions as classic Bridgers.
