YouTube personality Chris Sails is facing charges after allegedly telling Waller County, Texas deputies his children had fallen into a body of water behind his home — a claim that triggered a massive emergency response for nothing.

According to sheriff's office records, deputies responding to a report of a man jumping on cars found Sails sitting in the road, apparently praying, before he told them his kids were missing in the water. Fire crews, boats, sonar equipment and drones scrambled before officers discovered the children were safe with family the whole time.

Sails was arrested and booked on a misdemeanor charge of making a false statement to law enforcement. Fans online were quick to point out the irony: the prank-loving YouTuber may have finally pulled one on the wrong audience.
