A New Artificial Intelligence Research Center has announced that South Korean Samsung Electronics will open in New York to boost its capabilities in the field of “smart” technologies.
It is the sixth International Artificial Intelligence Center of the company. The other five are in Korea, the United Kingdom, Canada, Russia and Silicon Valley, California.
Head of the new center will be Daniel Lie, executive vice president of Samsung Research and internationally renowned robotics specialist. Samsung has announced plans to expand its advanced research capabilities in the field of artificial intelligence with the aim of recruiting around 1,000 specialists by 2020 to consolidate its position as the leader of artificial intelligence research in industry.
