Spike Lee Nearly Brawls With Fan Over Palestine Question at Yankee Stadium
The director had to be physically held back after a man filming him during dinner at the Legends Suite asked how he felt about Palestine.
Spike Lee was caught on viral video needing to be restrained during a tense confrontation at Yankee Stadium's Legends Suite before Thursday's Yankees-Red Sox playoff game. According to the New York Post, a man began filming Lee while he was eating and asked him how he felt about Palestine, which set off the director.
Footage shared by iHeartRadio host Andy Slater and posted to X shows a visibly "livid" Lee needing to be held back from physically confronting the man. TMZ says reps for Lee and the stadium had not responded to requests for comment at the time of publication.
The clip exploded across social media and sports outlets alike, briefly overshadowing the on-field action — the Yankees went on to win 9-2 and advance in the postseason.
