EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. — The New York Giants released wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. on Tuesday after he played just 19 snaps across three games this season without recording a catch, according to NFL.com.

The move came the same week the Giants traded for Vikings quarterback J.J. McCarthy, sending a 2027 fifth-round pick to Minnesota after starter Jaxson Dart suffered a season-ending injury, ESPN reported. McCarthy, the No. 10 pick in 2024, had been the third-string quarterback behind Kyler Murray and Carson Wentz in Minnesota. Giants coach John Harbaugh said Jameis Winston remains the starter despite the addition.
