Eagles in Freefall: Cowboys Rout Hurts-less Philly 38-21 for a Fifth Straight Loss
Dak Prescott threw three touchdowns and Javonte Williams ran for a career-high 155 yards as Dallas buried a Jalen Hurts-less Eagles team that has now lost five in a row.

The Dallas Cowboys snapped a two-game skid in brutal fashion Monday night, routing the Philadelphia Eagles 38-21 at Lincoln Financial Field in a result that doubled as a referendum on how far the Eagles have fallen without quarterback Jalen Hurts, sidelined indefinitely with a blood clot in his calf.
Dak Prescott threw three touchdown passes, two of them to CeeDee Lamb, while bruising running back Javonte Williams bulldozed Philadelphia's defense for a career-high 155 yards on 25 carries. Dallas matched Philadelphia score-for-score early before pulling away for good in the second half, improving to 3-4 on the season.
Philadelphia, meanwhile, sank to 2-5 and extended what is now a five-game losing streak — a jarring slide for a franchise that was in the playoff mix as recently as last season. Backup Tanner McKee started under center in Hurts' absence, and running back Saquon Barkley scored on an 8-yard touchdown run, but it wasn't nearly enough to keep pace with Dallas.
A season unraveling
Hurts was ruled out of Philadelphia's game against Carolina on Oct. 17 after a follow-up ultrasound showed movement in a small blood clot in his calf, prompting the team to place him on injured reserve. There is no clear timetable for his return, and the Eagles have not ruled out the possibility he could miss the remainder of the season.
FIVE STRAIGHT LOSSES — AND COUNTING
For Dallas, the win is a much-needed reset after consecutive losses threatened to derail its own playoff hopes. Prescott and the Cowboys' passing attack looked sharp throughout, and Williams' breakout rushing performance gives the offense a second dimension it has lacked for stretches this season.
For the Eagles, the questions now shift to how long McKee holds the job and whether Philadelphia's defense — gashed repeatedly on the ground Monday — can stabilize while the offense waits on its franchise quarterback's uncertain recovery.
