A 62-year-old was sentenced to death for the rape and murder of a 8-year-old girl who kidnapped a Walmart store after becoming a friend with his poor mother and was eager to shop for them. On Wednesday, Donald Smith was indifferent when he was sentenced to death in Jacksonville, Florida.
In 2013, she kidnapped 8-year-old Cherish Perrywinkle from a Walmart shop where she had taken her along with her sisters and her mother under the guise of them Cherish’s mother had met him a few hours earlier in another store where he approached them and asked if they needed new clothes.
He said he had a $ 100 gift card for the Walmart store and persuaded them to go there with him, claiming that his “husband” would meet them there. After entering the store, Smith, who is a celebrated actor, took Cherish away from her mother, claiming they would go to buy cheeseburgers from McDonald’s.
Cherish was found dead the next day under a tree in a swamp. She had been sexually abused by Smith. On Wednesday, Rayne’s mother attended Smith’s conviction. Later, she told the Florida Times-Union newspaper: “I want to burn in hell.”
