Pouron, according to the Guardian, is the 12th politician murdered in Mexico since September 2017, when the election process began in the country. The Mexicans are going to the polls on July 1st to elect a new president.
The motives of Puron’s murder remain unclear, although he has lately received threats and was forced to go out with 10 bodyguards.
