Taylor Swift Skips the Emmys, Sneaks Off for NYC Date Night With Travis Kelce Instead
While her 'Eras Tour' film got shut out at the Creative Arts Emmys, Swift was two months into married life and a continent away — cozied up with her husband at a Manhattan Indian restaurant.
Taylor Swift had somewhere better to be than the Creative Arts Emmys this weekend. As her concert film "Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour — The Final Show" lost in all five categories it was nominated in at the Saturday ceremony in Los Angeles, Swift was on the other coast, out to dinner with her husband, Travis Kelce.
The pair, married two months ago, were spotted at Ambassadors Clubhouse, a Northern Indian restaurant in Manhattan's NoMad neighborhood, on Sunday night, according to Just Jared. Swift wore a long gold-and-brown halter dress; Kelce opted for chinos, a short-sleeve top and checkered Vans.
Fresh Off Training Camp
The date came as Kelce wrapped up summer training camp with the Kansas City Chiefs, giving the couple a rare stretch of downtime before the NFL season swallows his schedule. The dinner turned into a small scene outside, with screaming fans gathering as the couple exited, according to Sports Illustrated.
MARRIED TWO MONTHS, STILL DODGING THE RED CARPET
Swift's absence from the Creative Arts Emmys wasn't a surprise snub so much as a scheduling choice — she and Kelce have largely stayed out of the spotlight since their wedding, making low-key appearances rather than splashy red-carpet ones. The Eras Tour film's shutout, meanwhile, continues a rocky awards stretch for the project despite its record-shattering box office run in theaters last year.
The main Primetime Emmy Awards ceremony, where Swift could still make an appearance depending on the night's presenters and performers, is scheduled for September 14 at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles, hosted by Mariska Hargitay.
