Sandra Bullock and Nicole Kidman brought the witches back to the big screen Wednesday night, walking the red carpet together at the London premiere of "Practical Magic 2" at the Odeon Luxe Leicester Square, nearly three decades after the original 1998 film made the Owens sisters cult favorites.

What the sequel is actually about

Directed by Susanne Bier and based on Alice Hoffman's 2021 novel "The Book of Magic," the sequel picks up roughly 25 years after the original. This time the story follows Sally's eldest daughter, Kylie, as she discovers unruly magical powers of her own, sending the Owens women from Massachusetts to the UK to dig into the family curse that's haunted the men they love. Bullock and Kidman both return as producers as well as stars.
