Nicole Kidman is speaking candidly for the first time about how her divorce from Keith Urban compares to the end of her marriage to Tom Cruise a quarter-century earlier, telling British Vogue that surviving heartbreak twice hasn't made the second time any easier.
"It's all new... every time!" Kidman said when asked directly whether her first divorce prepared her for the second. Kidman and Urban, who married in 2006, finalized the end of their 19-year marriage last September. The Oscar-winning actress told the magazine she went through a period of feeling "very fearful and deeply vulnerable" as she adjusted to life on her own.
Kidman was previously married to Cruise for a decade after the two met on the set of "Days of Thunder." They wed in 1990, adopted two children, Isabella and Connor, and divorced in 2001. Reflecting on that relationship, Kidman described being "madly in love" and said she was thrust into marriage at just 22 years old.

Asked whether she had any hard-won wisdom to offer after two high-profile breakups, Kidman returned to a line she and Urban used when they announced their split: family comes first. The couple share two daughters, Sunday Rose and Faith Margaret, and both have said publicly that co-parenting amicably has been a priority since the divorce became final.
