Michael Strahan Is a Dad Again — 'GMA' Host Welcomes Fifth Child With Longtime Girlfriend
The Good Morning America anchor and former NFL star quietly welcomed a baby girl earlier this year with girlfriend Kayla Quick — a decade after the couple first started dating out of the spotlight.

NEW YORK — Michael Strahan is a father of five. The "Good Morning America" anchor and former NFL Hall of Famer, 54, quietly welcomed a baby girl earlier this year with longtime girlfriend Kayla Quick, 36, TMZ first reported Thursday, citing sources with direct knowledge. Neither the baby's name nor exact birth date has been made public, and a representative for Strahan told TMZ there was no comment.
The baby joins Strahan's daughter Tanita, 34, and son Michael Jr., 31, from his first marriage, and 21-year-old twin daughters Isabella and Sophia from his second. Strahan and Quick, a businesswoman who founded the powdered-drink brand Fizzness, began dating in 2015 and have kept the relationship almost entirely out of the spotlight for roughly a decade — a rare feat for someone as recognizable as Strahan.
A private decade, in public glimpses
The couple's few public appearances together read like scattered breadcrumbs: a 2016 Broadway outing to see "Kinky Boots," a 2018 US Open visit with Isabella and Sophia, a matching-pajamas Christmas Instagram post in 2021, and Strahan's 2023 Hollywood Walk of Fame ceremony, according to HELLO! Magazine's timeline of the relationship. Quick was also by Strahan's side in 2023 when his daughter Isabella was diagnosed with medulloblastoma, a malignant brain tumor, shortly after Isabella enrolled at USC — a health scare that included emergency surgery, chemotherapy and radiation before Isabella announced she was cancer-free.
Rumors that the couple had split had circulated periodically over the years, making Thursday's news a surprise even to longtime followers of Strahan's career. Multiple outlets, including Yahoo Entertainment's report on the birth, note the couple has in fact stayed together for more than a decade — the new baby now confirming it publicly.
Strahan has not addressed the news on-air or on his own social media as of publication, and neither he nor ABC has issued an official statement beyond the "no comment" TMZ received. Fans are watching to see whether he'll speak about his growing family on a future episode of "GMA."
