The will-they-won't-they buzz around Michael B. Jordan and British singer Raye got a direct answer this weekend, and it's not the one shippers wanted. Asked about the pair's viral trip to Six Flags Magic Mountain at the 2026 MTV VMAs on Sept. 27, Raye told Extra, "No, we're just friends who like roller coasters," according to Just Jared.

The speculation kicked off after fan-shot TikTok footage showed Jordan, 39, and Raye, 28, sitting together on a roller coaster, laughing and chatting while waiting for the ride to start. The clip spread fast, with fans quickly speculating about a budding romance between the "Sinners" star and the "Escapism" singer.

Raye didn't leave it at a flat denial, though. She told outlets she and Jordan are actually working on a project together — though she stopped short of details. "I'm technically not allowed to talk about it because I might get in trouble," she said, per Yahoo Entertainment.

Neither Jordan nor Raye has been publicly linked to anyone else in recent months, which only fanned the dating rumors further before Raye's comments. For now, the pair are sticking to the story that it's strictly professional — and platonic — while leaving fans intrigued about whatever they're cooking up together next.
