Jax Taylor Wants Brittany Cartwright to Pay Him — Demands $17,401 a Month in Spousal Support
The 'Vanderpump Rules' star says he's unemployed with no regular income, and now wants his estranged wife to cover a hefty monthly check in their increasingly bitter divorce.
Jax Taylor is asking a judge to order his estranged wife, Brittany Cartwright, to pay him roughly $17,401 a month in spousal support, according to a filing reported Friday by TMZ and corroborated by Yahoo Entertainment.
The 'Vanderpump Rules' and 'The Valley' star's legal team is also asking that Cartwright cover $250,000 of his attorney's fees and $10,000 for a forensic accountant. In the filing, Taylor says he's currently unemployed with no regular income, reporting average monthly income of $30,334 over the last 12 months against roughly $28,944 in monthly expenses — figures that are his own claims, not court findings. He's also seeking to strip Cartwright of tie-breaking authority over medical decisions for their son, Cruz.
A divorce that's only gotten messier
The request lands more than two years into a split that's grown increasingly contentious. Cartwright filed for divorce in August 2024 and, separately, obtained a domestic violence temporary restraining order against Taylor that same month, alleging threats and physical intimidation. She has said publicly that Taylor used child and spousal support demands as a way to intimidate her, a claim his camp disputes.
Cartwright's own earlier filings reportedly sought to have spousal support waived for both parties entirely, making Taylor's new ask a notable reversal in the financial fight. There's no indication yet of when a judge might rule on the request.
With custody of Cruz already largely settled and a restraining order still in place, the spousal support fight appears to be one of the last major pieces of the Taylor-Cartwright divorce still working its way through the courts.
