Halle Berry Hit With Restraining Order After Ex Accuses Her of Choking Their Son
Olivier Martinez claims Berry physically attacked their 12-year-old son; her attorney calls the filing 'entirely meritless.'
Halle Berry's ex-fiancé Olivier Martinez filed for a temporary restraining order against her Thursday, alleging she jumped on, choked, and verbally attacked their 12-year-old son Maceo during an incident at her home the previous Saturday, according to TMZ. The filing claims Berry shouted "Who is dominant now?!" during the alleged altercation and that it wasn't an isolated incident. A judge granted a temporary order keeping Berry 100 yards from Martinez and requiring sobriety testing around visitation, with Berry retaining limited custody time pending an October 16 hearing.
Berry's attorney, Marina Beck, fired back hard, calling the filing "entirely meritless and deliberately misleading" and pointing to what she described as Martinez's "well-documented history of erratic, possessive and violent behavior" — a reference to a 2012 Thanksgiving brawl between Martinez and Berry's previous ex, Gabriel Aubry.
The long-running custody war between Berry and Martinez, who split in 2015, now heads toward a courtroom showdown later this month.
