Bugs Bunny Voice Actor Eric Bauza Dead at 46
The Emmy-winning performer behind Bugs Bunny and Daffy Duck died of hypertensive heart disease, the LA County Medical Examiner says.
Eric Bauza, the Canadian voice actor who brought Bugs Bunny and Daffy Duck to life for more than a decade, died at his Los Angeles home on October 25 at age 46, according to HollywoodLife, which cited NBC Los Angeles. The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner listed the cause as hypertensive cardiovascular disease and ruled the death natural.
Bauza's family announced the news on Instagram, saying he had "passed away suddenly" and that more details would follow. Beyond the Looney Tunes icons, he voiced Puss in Boots in Netflix's "The Adventures of Puss in Boots," Baby Fozzie on "Muppet Babies," and had a role in "Space Jam: A New Legacy." He was reportedly still attached to voice Daffy Duck in the upcoming stage musical "Bye Bye Bunny."
His manager, Judy Coppage, said "his sudden passing is a shock to all of us, and he will be deeply missed," while writer-producer Aaron J. Waltke called him "always so kind and open-hearted, even before he became the voice of our childhood."
