Zahara Marley Jolie is now, officially, just that. A Los Angeles judge approved her petition on Sept. 28 to legally change her name from Zahara Marley Jolie-Pitt to Zahara Marley Jolie, according to Yahoo Entertainment. The request went through without objection.

The 21-year-old, adopted by Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt from Ethiopia as an infant, had quietly filed the paperwork back in June — about a month after graduating from Atlanta's Spelman College with a psychology degree. She'd already been introducing herself as "Zahara Marley Jolie" as far back as 2023, when she pledged the Alpha Kappa Alpha sorority, and used the same name at her Spelman graduation in May, per E! News.

Zahara joins siblings Shiloh, Maddox and Vivienne in shedding the Pitt name — a pattern that has become one of the more visible, ongoing signals of the fractured relationship between Jolie's children and their father since the couple's contentious 2016 divorce filing and years of subsequent legal battles.

Jolie and Pitt share six children total — Maddox, Pax, Zahara, Shiloh, and twins Knox and Vivienne — and the string of name changes has repeatedly made headlines as each child has come of age and taken the step independently. Neither Pitt nor Jolie has publicly commented on Zahara's latest filing.
