Bavarians reveal the strongest version of the history of M5

After the recent leak, the Bavarian brand finally revealed the technical characteristics of the top-of-the-range range of the new M5, confirming its status as the strongest and fastest timeless model of the M Division.

At the heart of the upgrades offered by the Competition is an upgraded version of the 4.4-liter V8, the power of which has increased by 25 horsepower, reaching the impressive size of 625 horsepower. The engine optimization profile complements torque performance, which is set at 750 Nm and is available from 1,800 rpm. and in a wider range of revolutions.

The mechanical set complements the M-Steptronic eight-speed automatic transmission and the M xDrive all-wheel-drive system with which the M5 version is still well-known. The image complements the active limited slip differential on the rear axle which distributes the torque between the two rear wheels for better handling as the four-wheel drive enables the driver to choose the torque distribution exclusively on the rear wheels.

Concerning the “critical” figures that characterize the fastest of its kind, the M5 Competition Pack requires 3.3 seconds to accelerate from 0-100 km / h and 10.8 seconds for the sprint from 0 -200 km / h, being 1/10 second faster than its “simple” version in the first case and 3/10 of a second in the second.

Of course, upgrading does not exclude the suspension, where the degree of elasticity of the springs has been reduced by 10%, reducing the distance from the ground by 7 mm. In addition, the camber angle in the front axle is increased, while more stiff reversible beams have been utilized in the rear. At the same time, shock absorbers are harmonized with the toughest approach.

In addition to the upgrades on its unseen side, the versatility of the release is underlined by a number of design elements inside and outside, including redesigned bumpers and side panels, the rewritten aerodynamic diffuser and the new exhaust system as the glossy black details across the entire body.
