Aeromexico airliner crashed yesterday with a truck in a taxiway at Los Angeles International Airport shortly after landing, resulting in injuries to eight workers in the truck, the authorities said. The causes of the accident, which caused damage to the right wing of the Boeing 737 aircraft and overturned the truck, remain unclear and research is being carried out, said Los Angeles fire brigade spokesman Bryan Hamri.
The six men and two women who were in the vehicle were transferred to a hospital in the area for the injuries they suffered, but their lives were not at risk, Hamri added.
The airport officials reported that the situation of all eight is stable.
The fire brigade said it did not require medical follow-up for any of the approximately 150 passengers and the crew of Aeromexico’s 642 flight that was traveling from Mexico City.
