Rumor has it that Princess Diaries is returning to limelight with a third production.
The revelation came from Anne Hathaway’s co-star Heather Matarazzo, according to reports. But latest word from a Disney source says it’s not in the works.
Further, Anne Hathaway didn’t seem very interested in the idea.
“After Princess Diaries, I was labelled a good girl,’ she related in a Glamour interview. “For the first eight years of my career I had to fight to get any other kind of job.”
Princess Diaries catapulted Anne into stardom. It was followed by more similar family-friendly movies like Ella The Enchanted and The Devil Wears Prada where Anne played assistant to devilish editor Miranda Priestley (Meryl Streep).
Then, in 2004, she again appeared in a Princess Diaries sequel with Chris Pine.
But more mature roles were her obsession. Deviating from the good girl image, Anne began to accept controversial roles like the Catwoman in the Dark Knight Rises and Rachel Getting Married. She also went topless in the films Broke-back Mountain and Havoc.
Playing opposing images, Anne further commented. “I never thought of it in terms of a dichotomy—good girl versus bad girl—I was just trying to think of myself as a whole person.”
Princess Diaries 3 may be far in the offing.
What’s 100% certain is the fairy tale-like romantic feelings Anne has for husband Adam Shulman. “I knew from the second I met him that he was the love of my life. He walks into a room, and I light up. I can’t help it.”
Anne and Adam, who willl be celebrating their third wedding anniversary this fall, were seen at the New York premiere of The True Cost. The event was hosted by Anna Wintour, American Vogue chief editor.
The True Cost is a fashion documentary film that tackles the dark side of the high fashion industry, intended as an eye-opener concerning the industry’s impact on the environment and the human society.
