€ 800 million fine will be paid by Audi for the Dieselgate probe

German automaker Audi, a subsidiary of the Volkswagen group, will pay a fine of 800 million euros in Germany as part of the scandal of fake diesel engines that did not meet anti-pollution standards, the VW Group said today.

“Audi has accepted the fine” imposed on it by the Munich Public Prosecutor’s Office and will not appeal, the Volkswagen Group said in a statement stating that the payment of the fine would have a negative impact on the group’s 2018 financial performance.
