Bomb-like-device detonation in Oslo – One suspect has been arrested

A 39-year old male suspect from Uzbekistan has been arrested as the prime suspect who was driving the stolen truck of the terrorist attack. The man was known to the security services in Sweden, without having any clear connections to suspected terrorist action groups.

Since the attack of the truck, which killed 4 and 15 more had been injured  after it swept away pedestrians who were in a busy street in Stockholm, and ended crashing in a shop where fire started.
“Seven people were questioned about the facts,” said the head of police operations in SVT public television, there were several police operations to addresses around Stockholm during the last 24 hours.

However, the same officer refused to give more details about these police operations, but stressed that “there are strong evidences” that the man from Uzbekistan held, was the truck driver. The arrested person appearing to have acted alone, without the police authorities to exclude the possibility that there are accomplices.

In neighboring Norway, police went early this morning in a controlled explosion of a “device that looked like a bomb” in the center of the capital, Oslo, and a suspect was arrested. After the attack in Stockholm, police authorities in all the Nordic region have been put on alert.
