Arrested for huntng Pokemon

22 years old Ruslan Sakalofski faces penalty of imprisonment up to 7 years, and is accused of inciting hatred and insulting the religious feelings of believers. The case refers to that of the band Pussy Riot, who were sentenced to two years in prison for “punk prayer” of 2012 against Vladimir Putin in the Cathedral of Christ the Savior in Moscow.

The 22-year old filmed the hunt for Pokemon at church last summer. During the “hunting”, sounded a melody which referred to a prayer, interspersed, however, with insults. Then, he came out of the temple and said he regrets that “failed to catch the rarest Pokemon: Jesus.”

The video was posted on August 11th on YouTube and had more than 1.6 million views. The Orthodox Church of Russia accused the blogger of blasphemy for the video recorded in the cathedral of Ekaterinburg, who built on the place which was executed in 1918 by the last Tsar of Russia Nicholas II and his family.

I did not said to anyone to watch my videos, “he said in a break of his trial. The NGO Amnesty International pressed Russia to immediately leave free the blogger, considering that he is a prisoner of conscience
