Actor Robert De Niro received the suspicious parcel investigated by police in New York’s Trajbeck area, CNN reported, adding that this is similar to other suspicious packages sent this week. New York police rushed to the area to respond to suspicious parcel information received in a building where there are no residences in the Trabeca neighborhood in Manhattan, the network added.
New York Police official Thomas Anthony told CNN that the parcel was taken at 372 on Greenwich Street and that the police fireworks team is there. The police received a call shortly after 4:00 local time, he added. Two companies are listed at this address: Tribeca Film Festival and Tribeca Grill. Both are associated with the actor and director Robert De Niro, who has criticized President Donald Trump.
The NBC network in New York had earlier reported that the parcel found in Trabeca is similar to what was sent to prominent Democrats earlier this week and that it was sent to the address of a restaurant owned by Robert De Niro.
If it is verified that this package is the same as the one sent this week, it will be the eighth package sent to someone who has criticized President Donald Trump. De Niro once called Donald Trump a national disaster. New York police announced that the De Niro’s restaurant building was empty at the time the suspicious package arrived, broadcast NBC.
